SUMMARY:Santa Cruz Moutains Fieldtrip
DESCRIPTION:My husband’s grandfather built a cabin in the Santa Cruz Mts. in 1914. It sits on the\nBean Creek in Scott’s Valley\, so we affectionately refer to the cabin as “The Bean.” It\nhas been a family treasure ever since. \nPlease join me for a day at the Bean photographing the cabin itself with its wood\nburning stove and original redwood walls and counters\, as well as the surrounding\narea. The cabin is surrounded by towering redwoods and the creek shores are lined\nwith lush ferns. Banana slugs and newts are common\, as well as an array of birds and\nthe occasional turtle or owl. It would be fun to get a group picture here! \nThe creek is quite shallow (a few inches with some deeper pools)\, so bring water\nshoes\, maybe a hiking pole if needed\, as those interested will take a short creek walk.\nHowever\, there is much to photograph if you don’t feel like getting your feet wet. \nI suggest bringing a bag lunch\, but there are numerous eateries nearby\, but when we\nget to the cabin\, most people don’t want to visit civilization to get a burger! \nCarpooling is encouraged\, as parking is limited. It takes just over an hour to get there\,\nbarring traffic. We’ll leave here at 9 a.m. and stay until 2ish at the latest. \nPlease RSVP to Vicki at vjs.1194@gmail.com
