We’re excited to see your work! Here’s how to enter:

  • First, check out the rules below.

Categories:

  • Color Pictorial: The image will be judged on interest, visual impact, composition, and technical excellence.
  • Monochrome Pictorial: The image will be judged as in Color Pictorial, but presented in just one color (usually black) and white, but can be in any single color such as sepia or cyanotype.
  • Nature: The image will depict any branch of natural history, so that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material. The informative and nature story telling aspect of a photograph will be weighed more than the pictorial quality.
  • Travel: The image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive features or culture in its natural state.

 

Rules:

  • Entrants must be residents of the tri-valley area (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, and Danville).
  • Submissions must include the following information:
    • Entrants name, email address, phone number, and town of residence,
    • An image title of 50 characters or less, spaces included,
    • Attach a completed model release if applicable,
    • When and where the image was taken,
    • What camera was used.
  • The image and any part of the image (if a composite image) must have been photographed by the entrant. Use of AI or any form of clip art is disqualifying.
  • For images not taken in public areas that show recognizable individuals, the entrant will submit a model release. A model release template is provided HERE for download.
  • Images are to be submitted digitally, in jpeg format, not to exceed 1920 pixels on the horizontal side and 1200 pixels on the vertical side.
  • Entries must be family-friendly (G-rated) and respectful, appropriate for a general audience of all ages. Offensive or controversial content will not be permitted and will lead to disqualification without explanation.
  • The contest is not open to current or past LVCC members, or to professional photographers.
  • Entrants will retain all rights to their images, but LVCC may post the images on its website, use them for promotional and advertising purposes, and publicly display them.
  • Entry is free.
  • Images must be submitted after August 1, 2025, but no later than midnight, August 31, 2025.
  • Winners will be announced October 1, 2025.
  • Awards for first, second, third and Best in Show will be presented in person October 11, 2025.
  • By entering this contest, the entrant agrees to all rules and conditions outlined herein.
  • Livermore Valley Camera Club retains the right to modify these rules at any time.

 

Prizes:

  • First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in each category.
  • The highest scoring image of all the categories combined will get the “Best in Show”.
  • Honorable mention awards will be given.
  • Judging will be done by the LVCC membership. Members will choose their first, second and third choice images in each category by awarding each image with zero through five points. Winners will be the images with the most points.
  • In the event of a tie, the ultimate winner will be chosen by the LVCC Board.
  • Best in Show will be a $100 Mike’s Camera gift card (in addition to the $50 gift card for winning its category) and a 16 x 20 canvas print of the winning image.
  • First prizes will be a Mike’s Camera gift card in the amount of $50 and an 11 x 14 print, matted.
  • All winners, including honorable mentions, will receive certificates.
  • Winning images will be printed, matted, and framed to be exhibited at the Livermore Public Library in November, 2025.
